BAFFOR AGBEY
OWNER | CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
I chose to work with Wildland Medics for their culture and deep desire to provide the best healthcare to Wildand Firefighters. I am passionate about building relationships, leading cross-functional teams and providing community outreach. I am a retired U.S. Army Master Sergeant with 20 years of service, coupled with 16 years of training and developing experience and with an additional 7 years of hospital management expertise with a Top Secret- SCI clearance. After the tragic events of September 11, 2001, I left my home state of Minnesota, to actively pursue those responsible. Disregarding my natural fear of heights and blood, I deliberately chose to serve as an airborne healthcare specialist (Combat Medic). While assigned to units from Washington, North Carolina, Texas, Washington D.C., and Korea, I found myself managing complex projects and developing innovative ways to train and develop not only systems, but people. I enjoy brainstorming, mentoring and coordinating efforts to achieve a common goal. In my first 5 years of service, I became a certified military instructor, specifically for medical officers preparing for overseas deployment. I graduated from Wayland Baptist University with a Bachelors in Business Studies in 2012. Since then, I have led Soldiers around the United States and Korea, managing teams as large as 259 people, accompanied by millions of dollars’ worth of organizational equipment. I have experience working independently of direct supervision with extensive foreign training experience in Vietnam, Philippines, Ecuador, Jordan, Kuwait and Chile. I joined to stand for those who could not stand for themselves. I learned early in my career, through instilled values and exposure to other cultures, that I could make a significant impact by simply teaching others what I know. I enjoy communicating shared experiences and applying lessons learned to obtain a better outcome.
-On his days off, Baffour can be found hanging in a hammock or sitting by a fire pit with Tom Petty tunes in the background.
-His proudest accomplishment is raising four strong, independent young ladies (and one young man) and still alive to talk about itl
